policies

office hours

Our regular office hours are 8-5 Monday through Friday, 9-2 Saturday and Sunday. If the office is closed we always check messages and get back to you promptly.

payment

To book appointments we require a valid credit card be put on file with our office, but we accept payment by credit card OR check via your bank's bill pay system.

8.875% NYS sales tax will be added to all payments.

There is a small convenience charge for paying by credit card.

credit cards - All credit card payments are processed one day prior to your cleaning. Should Ms.Green-Clean not be able to process your credit card payment prior to the day of the cleaning, your account will be subject to a $10.00 charge.

checks - Paying via your bank's bill pay system is quick and easy as paying utility or any other bills online. Checks must be received in our office no more than 7 business days after your appointment. If check is not received in this time the office will charge client's credit card on file and there will be a 4.5% late payment fee added.

cancellation policy

MGC requires 48-hour cancellation notice. If you cancel your appointment less than 48 hours before scheduled start time you will incur a $40 late cancellation fee per person (+ 8.875% NYS sales tax).*

non-entry policy

If you don't cancel your appointment and we are unable to gain entry to your home you are obligated to pay job price in full (+ 8.875% NYS sales tax).* We will charge the credit card we have on file for you.

waiting worker policy

If a worker arrives on time to your home, but must wait longer than 1/2 hour to gain entry to your home, you will be charged an additional fee based on the rate of $30/worker per hour.

appointment reminders policy

We've learned that not all clients want appointment reminders, though we are happy to provide this courtesy service. Please inform office staff at booking if you would like us to provide appointment reminders.

holiday policy

Ms. Green-Clean works on all holidays, so if your regularly scheduled appointment falls on a holiday it's a go unless you contact the office or the MGC office contacts you with a schedule change.

ms. green-clean employee solicitation policy

Ms. Green-Clean clients may not solicit our employees to be contracted or employed by you or your affiliations for cleaning services of any kind. If you would like to hire/contract one of our workers to work independently for you or your affiliates, you may request such services by informing our office in writing. If Ms.Green-Clean approves your request, you will be required to pay a $3000 referral fee.

hot weather policy

We know it ain't so green, but NYC is HOT in the summer, so you must either provide air conditioning OR VERY GOOD cross ventilation with lots of open windows and fans while we're working in your home during hot weather months.

privacy policy

Ms. Green-Clean respects your privacy. We will share your information with no individual, company, or organization.

included in our cleanings

standard cleaning task list (This is not exhaustive. Every home and client is different.)
throughout home:

  • Vacuum and/or sweep all carpets and floors
  • Spot clean walls and doorframes
  • Dust blinds, window sills, moldings, fans and light fixtures
  • Hand wash and/or mop all floors (including floor of closets ONLY if very easily accessible)
  • Empty garbage, Clean and sanitize waste cans if necessary
  • Remove cobwebs
  • Dust and polish furniture
  • Dust and polish mirrors and picture frames
  • Clean ceiling light fixtures and fans (if safely reachable by ladder)
  • Wash windows (insides only. If you want outsides cleaned, please hire our full, green window cleaning service)
  • Clean under and behind furniture where accessible
  • Clean beneath furniture cushions, damp wipe and/or vacuum upholstered furniture surfaces
  • Clean bottoms of closet floors where easilly accessible

kitchens:

  • Wipe kitchen counters and surfaces
  • Clean microwaves and broilers
  • Clean stovetop and inside oven
  • Wash dishes, scour kitchen sink
  • Wipe outsides of cabinets and drawers
  • Clean inside of refrigerator

bathrooms:

  • Scour and disinfect, sinks, tubs, toilets, shower walls and doors

special request (these items must be arranged with office BEFORE appointment):

  • Organize and/or tidy toys, fireplaces, pet items, clothes, magazines, books, etc…
  • Make beds and/or change linens
  • Water house plants
  • Clean bathroom shower curtains
  • Clean inside of drawers, closets, shelves and cabinets (*standard with move-ins, move-outs, post-constructions)
  • Organize and/or tidy inside of closets, cabinets, drawers
  • Laundry (You must provide coins, cards, detergent and machines must be in your building.)
  • Clean behind large kitchen appliances--refrigerator or stove (Only if time and scope of job allow AND it has been arranged with office prior to appointment. YOU will need to move them)
  • Remove Recycling – Clients often don’t want us to empty their paper recycling because they have sensitive material in it and want to shred it first, so we’ve made this task a special request.
  • Cleaning of patios and balconies
  • Any other special requests not listed here that we're able to accommodate.

not included in our cleanings

  • Cleaning homes that have been infested with bed bugs
  • Cleaning of cat litter boxes
  • Handling of pet feces
  • Cleaning of fireplaces
  • Hand washing clothes
  • Providing laundry services when the laundry facilities are not located inside your building
  • Cleaning outside of windows (unless you hire our full window service)
  • Stepping on kitchen counters to clean the top of cabinets – you must provide safe step stool or ladder
  • Reorganizing clothing closets (unless you hire our organizer) We only clean the bottom of closet floors (if they are easily accessible)
  • Lifting of or moving of heavy items (unless you are there to help)
  • Cleaning inside of toilets without a proper toilette brush

satisfaction policy

Ms. Green-Clean proudly stands behind our work. Should you have any comments regarding your cleaning, please call us within 24 hours after the end of your cleaning appointment. If there are areas that you feel we have overlooked, we ask that you do not clean those areas yourself, as we will have someone report to your home to re-clean the areas of concern. While we are unable to issue refunds, if necessary, we are happy to re-clean any areas of concern.

Ms. Green-Clean LLC reserves the right to change these business policies at any time.

*BY ACCEPTING ANY MS. GREEN-CLEAN APPOINTMENT CLIENT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THEY HAVE READ, FULLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO ALL MS. GREEN-CLEAN POLICIES. YOU UNDERSTAND LATE CANCELLATIONS and NON-ENTRY FEES WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE CHARGED TO THE CREDIT CARD YOU HAVE ON FILE WITH MS. GREEN-CLEAN, AND THAT FOR CLEANINGS IT WILL BE CHARGED THE DAY PRIOR TO YOUR CLEANING APPOINTMENT.
